Why I built Bonesaw
I run ecommerce myself, and I got tired of checking competitor stores by hand. A snapshot was not enough. I wanted to know when a competitor changed a price, restocked a product, sold out, or launched something new. So I built the tool I wanted for my own work: it watches the stores I pick and tells me what changed.
Two different jobs
This is not a knock on Koala Inspector. It is a solid research tool. It just answers a different question than Bonesaw does.
Inspection and research
Koala Inspector is built around looking at a store right now, with things like its apps, theme, and best sellers, plus sales and traffic estimates modeled from public signals. It also offers an optional tracking feature for stores you add. Its own site notes that the core read is what is public right now, so it can miss historical price changes and recently sold-out products.
Ongoing monitoring
Bonesaw is built for watching the competitors you already care about and reporting what changed over time: price moves, restocks, sellouts, new and removed products, and catalog changes. Alerts go to email, Slack, or Discord.
